Hi, I’m Jordan!
As the owner of Hudson Counseling Services, I welcome you to our site and thank you for considering us as you look to partner with someone to find peace, hope, and balance. As one of the therapists here, I’d like to introduce myself a bit. I have a masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Bethel University and am licensed as a Professional Counselor in Wisconsin and as a Professional Clinical Counselor in Minnesota. I’ve also received additional training in working with couples, providing licensure supervision, recovery from substance abuse, and adolescent mental health.
I specialize in supporting couples, individuals, and teens using a collaborative, strengths-based approach, which specifically comes from a background of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy (EFT). I’m also trained in a special form of couples therapy called Discernment Counseling, which is intended to help couples who are considering divorce make a good decision about their future. It’s a good alternative to going to a divorce attorney if one partner is wanting the relationship to be saved. You can learn more about Discernment Counseling at our Services page here.
I see the journey of therapy as one that involves all aspects of a person, including their mind, body, and soul. The word Psychology actually means “the study of the soul”, and yet often times our soul is the part of ourselves that is neglected at times in the world of therapy. Through research-driven scientific information as well as incorporating a person’s spiritual beliefs, we can feel more balanced and whole. Although my spirituality draws from my Christian faith, I am supportive of those who have different beliefs and values and never force my beliefs onto others. However, I see a great value in giving our souls the proper attention needed to find balance as a whole person, so I’m happy to assist my clients in doing that integrative work during the counseling process.
I consider my favorite way of helping others to be working with couples. So, whether it’s providing premarital counseling and assessment through PREPARE/ENRICH, improving communication and emotional connection with established couples, or helping couples at the brink of divorce, I’m ready to help. My style is objective, supportive, and insightful and my goal is to help you and your partner to resolve issues and feel emotionally connected.
If you are a therapist that is looking for a supervisor towards licensure in MN as an LPCC or in WI as an LPC, I am a board-approved licensure supervisor for both of those credentials.
When not at the office, my family and I enjoy life on a hobby farm gardening and raising goats, chickens, and pigs. I also love reading, personal finance, investing, and cooking.
