Angela Bishop

Asking for the help of a therapist requires incredible vulnerability and courage, and I’m so glad you’re taking that first step. There are times in all our lives when we struggle and could benefit from some support. I am passionate about working with adult individuals who are struggling with things like anxiety, depression, relational challenges, and trauma.

I believe that effective therapy depends greatly on the therapeutic relationship and I strive to create an atmosphere of warmth, genuineness, and respect where you not only feel welcome and heard, but deeply understood. I would consider it an honor to be entrusted with your story and walk alongside you on your journey toward healing.

I believe we all have the innate capacity to heal ourselves but often need someone to support and guide us in that journey. As an integrative therapist, I blend a variety of modalities to create a specialized approach to healing for each person. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a highly effective method of treating trauma and other painful life experiences. I am also an EMDR consultant-in-training.

I am Level 3 trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS), a transformational and empowering parts model which honors each person’s intuitive wisdom, and seeks to achieve internal harmony and balance. I am also trained in Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO), a relationship therapy model using and building on IFS concepts to heal relational wounds and deepen connection. Additionally, I am certified in the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) which uses carefully filtered music to help regulate the nervous system.

Special areas of interest:

As a highly sensitive person and therapist, I have a special interest in working with others who also think and feel deeply. In my free time, I enjoy reading, doing anything creative, and spending time with my husband, and dog, Remy.
