MARY JACKS
MS, LMFT

Hello, welcome to this site! I understand it can be hard to seek help, so I invite you to sit back, take some deep breaths, and read. I trust you will know if this information sounds like a good fit for you. If it is not, I strongly encourage you to keep looking. Don’t give up. Get the help you deserve.

I have been a therapist for 25 plus years and can still say, I LOVE my job! I enjoy working with individuals (18 years and older), families, and couples. I believe the valleys of life can be challenging, but also an opportunity for amazing growth. I feel privileged and honored to accompany people on their life journey to help them gain personal insight, to develop healthier patterns of interaction, and to live a life that feels true to their heart, mind, body, and soul.

I use an integrated approach drawing from a variety of therapy models such as: cognitive behavioral, family systems, AIR Network, mindfulness, psychoeducation, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, and EMDR for trauma. I also utilize spirituality when it’s desired.

I am licensed in Wisconsin and Minnesota.

A bit about me:

I was 15 years old when I knew I wanted to be a therapist. It was at this time, I helped start Northside Settlement (a free clinic) in North Minneapolis, and became a patient advocate. Life circumstances delayed my degree, while raising 3 children, owning and operating an in-home daycare, supporting my husband’s rotating shifts, while working to earn my Bachelor of Science degree in Family Social Science. I graduated from the University of MN the same year our oldest graduated from high school!

I enjoy gardening, cooking, reading, biking, cross country skiing, going to the gym, spending time with my family, and friends.
